Elmer/Ice Workshop

4-6 November 2013

An advanced-user workshop on ice-flow modelling using Elmer/Ice was held at the premises of CSC in Espoo, Finland, on 4-6 November 2013. Lectures and exercises were given by Thomas Zwinger, Mika Malinen, Peter Råback (CSC) and Fabien Gillet-Chaulet (LGGE). The fifteen participants brought their own applications to work on in collaboration with each other and with the assistance of the lecturers.
The lecturers presented inverse methods, hydrological modelling, parallel application, block pre-conditioning and methods for pre- and post-processing, including meshing techniques.
The workshop was excellently organised by CSC and well received by the participents, some of whom stayed longer at CSC to continue working on their problems with the CSC staff.
