Students on ice Students On Ice is an award-winning organization offering unique educational expeditions to the Antarctic and the Arctic. Through this Antarctic expedition, Students On Ice aims to provide students, educators and scientists from around the world with inspiring educational opportunities and, in doing so, help them foster a new understanding and respect for the Planet.
Anne Chapuis, as a PhD student at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, embarked on a Students On Ice expedition to Antarctica from December 28, 2010 to January 10, 2011. She is working now as a climate adviser for the Norwegian government.
Anne got the incredible opportunity to be one of the chaperones on that year's expedition. As a young glaciologist, she was writing a PhD about the formation of icebergs in Svalbard. Her main focus was in preserving nature and working towards a sustainable world. She joined the Youth Expedition to convey her love and respect for nature to the young participants.
