SVALI annual and Nordic Branch 2014

The fourth SVALI Annual Meeting was held at the Nordic House in Reykjavík, Iceland, on 29 October 2014, attended by 34 participants, thereoff 15 SVALI PhDs and postdocs. The research of the last year was summarised by Theme Leaders, the plans and the budget for the next and final project year were described and all the PhDs and postdocs gave short presentations about the status of their projects. The participants then joined the annual Nordic IGS meeting near Vík in Mýrdalur for next three days where SVALI researchers presented 10 out of 36 oral presentations and 17 out of 39 posters. Excursions to Gígjökull and Hjörleifshöfði after the meeting gave the participants an opportunity to see several places that have been flooded and shaped by past jökulhlaups.
