SVALI Final Conference, Ilulissat, Greenland, June 4-5, 2015

SVALI Final Conference will be held in connection to the Ilulissat Climate Days  2-4 June 2015, ESA and SVALI (Nordforsk) funded workshop on progress in cryospheric research in the Arctic

 

SVALI members are encouraged to arrive at Ilulissat latest in the morning of June 2. Selected SVALI presentations will be given during the Climate Days by invitation, the rest of the SVALI science will be presented during the SVALI Final Conference. More information follows soon.

Nordic IGS meeting, Iceland, October 30 -November 1, 2014

Online registration and abstract submission is now open for the 2014 IGS Nordic Branch annual meeting. This year the meeting is held in Iceland at a fantastic venue close to M?rdalsj?kull. The dates for the meeting are 30 October-1 November.

SVALI Annual Meeting, Reykjavik, October 29, 2014

The SVALI annual meeting will be held in Reykjavik, October 29, 2014.The meeting will be held at the Nordic House, http://www.nordichouse.is/  that is on the university campus.

 

The meeting starts in the morning with administrative issues, and the afternoon session will be committed to the student and post doc presentations. Those, who are not involved with the SVALI administration, may arrive in Reykjavik the same morning.

 

Both lunch and dinner will be served in the same location.

 

There is a possibility to get two smaller rooms for theme meetings if necessary.

 

The SVALI funded students and post docs are expected to give a short (max. 10 min) presentation of the status of their work in the afternoon session. The scientific presentations will be presented in the following IGS Nordic Branch meeting  in M?rdalur, Iceland, October 30 ? November 1.

 

All the SVALI funded PhD students and post docs are expected to participate in both the annual meeting in Reykjavik and the IGS meeting.

SVALI annual meeting and IGS Nordic Branch 2013 Meeting

The next SVALI annual meeting will be held in Aura -hall, Dynamicum, Kumpula Campus, Helsinki, starting at 12 on the 30th of October, 2013. Registrations are open until September 15th, by sending an e-mail to Anna Sinisalo (a.k.sinisalo[at]geo.uio.no).

 

The meeting is followed by the IGS Nordic Branch meeting in Lammi, 31th October to the 2nd of November.

The meeting provides an informal venue for Nordic-based scientists and students in cryosphere research and related topics to present their latest results. The meeting is hosted by the Department of Physics, University of Helsinki.

The registration fee includes accommodation (Thursday - Saturday) with full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner and two coffee breaks per day) including towels & bed linen and Thursday & Friday evening sauna with snack.

 

The registration fee:

1 Person in 2 person room with shared bathroom 160 Eur

1 Person in 1 person room with shared bathroom 185 Eur

1 Person in 1 person room with private bathroom 210 Eur

 

Due to the limited accommodation capacities of Lammi Biological Station, the maximum number of participants at the IGS Nordic Branch meeting is limited to 80 persons.

 

Abstract submission, registration and payments will be handled by IGS (abstract submission and registration websites will be announced in April).
